Summer Internships
General Information on the Intern Program
Apostles Church is offering Summer Internships for 2012. This Intern Program is intended to offer the experience, training, and opportunity to grow into a gospel centered leader in the church. These internships will provide practical ministry experience, theological development, and training for ministry to develop leaders to impact their home, work, church, and world into the future.
These internships are support-raised positions and have a 40-50 hour per week time commitment over 8 weeks in the summer from June 4 – July 27. Each intern will be provided biblical and theological training, ministry-specific learning, intentional development, and community.
Apostles Worship Arts Intern
Apostles Church is looking for highly motivated men and women to intern with the worship arts staff in the summer of 2012. Interns will assist in leading worship in a multi-congregational setting and provide support to the worship staff for all arts initiatives.
Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to a lifestyle of personal worship and be skilled as a vocalist and/or instrumentalist for leading in corporate worship. In return, interns will fine tune musical skills, learn the Apostles' philosophy of worship, grow theologically, and become better equipped for a future in worship ministry.
Apostles Community Groups Intern
Are you passionate about the church being a gospel centered community on mission? Apostles Church is looking for men and women who desire to learn how to engage in the mission of God in community. This internship will focus on supporting, training, and growing Community Groups to be on mission to New York City with the message and mercy of Jesus Christ.
Apostles Mercy & Justice Intern
Are you passionate about mercy & justice through the local church? Are you looking for a greater understanding of ministry at Apostles Church to New York City? Apostles Church is looking for men and women who are interested in creating opportunities for the church to better minister to the needs of our congregations and the city.
Interns will assist the Pastor of Justice in creating a service bank of local justice and mercy ministries, help create an internal service bank of gifts, talents, and resources of the people of Apostles Church, and provide general assistance in leading our justice initiatives. In return, interns will grow and develop as leader, grow theologically, and be equipped for ministry in urban centers.
General Administrative Intern
Apostles Church is looking for an intern to assist with logistical support, event support, and other administrative duties. The role will teach the individual how to effectively manage a complex organization, maintain accurate and consistent information amidst a growing organization. This intern will also learn how to manage volunteer teams and volunteers.
Brooklyn Mission Intern
Are you passionate about helping lay the framework of mission in a new endeavor? Do you have entrepreneurial desires for ministry, want to grow in discipleship, and see the gospel go out? Do you long for urban renewal and justice for the poor? Apostles Church is looking for a man or woman willing to help grow our gospel ministry in Brooklyn. This internship will work alongside our church-planting resident to plan events, locate available spaces, network with nonprofits and local churches, support the existing community on mission, pray, and expand our mercy and justice ministry. As this intern serves, he or she will be grown and developed as a leader, intentionally discipled, and empowered for urban ministry.
