Dewitt Nursing Home
Come and join other HFNY volunteers as we sing hymns, read scripture and spend time with residents who are often abandoned or rarely visited by their families. 12 Volunteers are needed to serve with the NYC Relief Bus on the second Saturday of each month from 10:00AM to 2:00PM in Bushwick, Brooklyn and the South Bronx. Bowery Mission Needs Men's Clothes
The Bowery Mission is in need of new and packaged socks, underwear and undershirts for men, as well as new and gently used white dress shirts and business suits. These clothes will provide professional attire for men transitioning out of homelessness and into the workforce. Contact: In January of 2010, hundreds of volunteers will fan out across Manhattan to offer every single street person food, blankets, and most importantly a complete "holistic residential recovery program that offers them new life in Christ" and educational, vocational and housing solutions.
